Company Artist
Elizabeth Goodson has served as Expressions In Gold Ltd.. artist in residence since 1985.
History
Elizabeth and David have been making wire jewelry since the early 1970’s. They first became aquainted with this art form through various artists at Kind Richard’s Renaissance Faires. David operated a food booth at the time and would trade with some of the artists, product for food. They soon became saturated with all kinds of bracelets, rings and necklaces, and arranged to trade lessons with them instead.
Their first pieces were basic silver with rough slabs and stones. Elizabeth wanted to produce a finer looking product and began visiting lapidary and gem shows. Working with more polished stones, their techniques and skills developed quickly and friends and co-workers began to request custom pieces for their own collections. Their expanded line soon included fine silver, rolled gold and on special order, 14 and 18 karat gold settings.
In order to add a new dimension to their jewelry, Elizabeth recently studied with Master Wire Sculptor, Preston Reuther and Dale Armstrong, perfecting new styles and concepts in this ever changing art form. Since then they have begun to include carved bone, jade, many forms of pearls and imported cameos in their designs.
During the past five years, they have been exhibiting at local fine art and fine craft shows steadily increasing their customer following. From March through December they can be found at shows throughout the Midwest. They also have a full calendar of home shows, and contribute to their community by assisting in fund raisers for worthy causes.
Look for their upcoming show schedule on the calendar page.
